Is there a person and a contact number I can get to contact them about this
program. I would like to have them come on my radio show and talk about
their program Eyes on Employment". Help me out on this one. This would be
some great information.

I graduated from there in 1970 and it's a great school I have been tuning
pianos every since. And when I run in to any kind of a problem I can simply
call the school and get a good answer. That is great. I would encourage any
blind person that would like to make a career of piano tuning to go there.

Hey everyone,
I'm Marshall, and I've been on this list for a while. I didn't contribute
much but I've read here and there.
I just returned last Thursday from Vancouver Washington/Portland OR from
visiting the Emil Fries school or as some know it the Piano Hospital. I
went out for a couple of days to evaluate their program and to allow them to
evaluate me. I left with such a positive impression that I wanted to write
all of you to suggest that if you want to become a piano technician, don't
wast time learning from a sighted piano technician. Yes, they might be able
to help you learn the very basics because I started out by learning from a
sighted piano tech.
However, the method of teaching that Emil Fries uses is by far better for
those of us who are vision impaired or blind. They use more touch methods
rather than using the sight I have, I learned how to use touch. I'm hoping
to attend in September. Their school is fully accredited and your VR person
can help you.
So this is related to jobs because when you leave that school, you can get a
job as a piano technician or even start your own business. Take care.
Marshall
