Coordination, and Center for Consumer and External Affairs. The DC
facilitates cooperation within DARS and works with the DARS Divisions,
Fiscal Services and Operations staff to maximize the efficiency and
effectiveness of DARS. The DC reports on the functions of the department

other external agencies and entities. Job responsibilities include

Screening Criteria: Bachelor’s Degree with preference in degree related to Health and Human Services, Behavioral or Social Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Finance, Economics, or Vocational Rehabilitation.
Graduate degree with preference in field related to Health and Human Services, Behavioral or Social Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Law, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Finance, Economics, or Vocational Rehabilitation.
Experience with the Texas Legislative Appropriations Request process. Experience with
Texas
state legislative processes, procedures and protocol including interfacing with elected officials, their staff or the Legislative Budget Board and Governor’s Office. Presenting information or testifying before executive boards/councils or legislative bodies. Organization-wide oversight in the development, implementation and compliance of state or federal mandates. Managing and directing budget and staff for multiple programs at a local, state or federal agency. Developing, monitoring and implementing strategic plans and performance measures. Experience with managing contracted service delivery desirable.
Experience with federal and state laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to DARS programs.
Experience developing, monitoring and implementing strategic plans, rule making process, performance objectives/measures. Experience in managing multiple and competing priorities.
