WORK LOCATION: Human Resources Division offices located at Room 450,
King County Administration Building, 500 Fourth Avenue, Seattle,
Washington  98104. 

WORK SCHEDULE: The usual work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Candidates are required to be available to work
additional hours, which may include evenings and weekends, as needed to
respond to workload needs. This position is exempt from the provisions
of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not overtime eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be a member of the Diversity Management Services
Section of the Human Resources Division.  

This position will provide senior level support in delivering high
performance and effective affirmative action, equal employment
opportunity, and workforce diversity programs for King County.

 

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE: 

*	Assist in the implementation of human resource affirmative
action, equal employment opportunity, and workforce diversity programs
for King County. 
*	Develop and maintain complex data tables necessary to measure
affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and workforce
diversity program results. 
*	Monitor and evaluate department activity related to affirmative
action, equal employment opportunity, and workforce diversity programs.
Measure and present the results of those activities. 
*	Provide training, technical assistance, and support specifics to
implementing affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and
workforce diversity. 
*	Communicate effectively with management, employees, and the
public, to promote affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and
workforce diversity. Communicate statistical and narrative information
effectively using software applications and other tools. 
*	Assist in the management of process improvement and quality
assurance efforts.  Ensure the delivery and performance of accurate,
timely, and legally defensible affirmative action, equal employment
opportunity, and workforce diversity practices.  
*	Provide support to internal and external investigations related
to equal employment. 
*	Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

*	Demonstrated knowledge and experience of human resource

organization. 
*	Demonstrated ability and experience using analytical skills to
interpret and apply laws related to affirmative action, equal employment
opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other laws against
discrimination. 
*	Demonstrated knowledge and experience monitoring and reporting
outcomes related to implementing affirmative action, equal employment
opportunity, and workplace diversity objectives. 
*	Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with
performance and quality assurance management concepts and tools. 
*	Demonstrated ability of preparing and presenting findings, both
verbally and in writing, in a clear manner.  Demonstrated skill in
writing documents, reports and technical writings in an excellent
manner.  Demonstrated ability in reading comprehension, reasoning, and
communicating content in a clear manner. 
*	Demonstrated ability to train and make presentations using adult
learning concepts. 
*	Demonstrated experience and skill using project management,
quality assurance, and data management tools.  A demonstrable ability of
using applications such as Excel and Access, Project and Visio. The
ability to learn specialized human resource and affirmative action
software is desired. 
*	Demonstrated knowledge of human resource federal and state law,
county code, policy, labor contracts, and other agreements. 
*	Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment in the
analysis and reporting of complex information. 

*	Effective interpersonal skills in working productively with all
levels of management, staff, employees and outside agencies under
challenging conditions. 

*	Demonstrated ability to apply strong organizational and customer
service skills.  

 

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: 

*	Demonstrated ability to meet multiple assigned tasks and
deadlines. 
*	Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of documents
and information. 
*	Predictable and reliable attendance and punctuality. 
*	The ability to travel to travel worksites in a predictable and
timely manner.
