Position is located in Ithaca, N.Y., within the ILR School on the campus
of Cornell University. 
   
The School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University has
an immediate opening for an ADA Program Associate in the Employment and
Disability Institute. 


The DBTAC-Northeast ADA Center, a federally-funded grant from the
National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, U.S.
Department of Education is seeking a team member to provide training and
training evaluation and research assistance. This five-year, 5.5 million
dollar project provides training and technical assistance to businesses,
employers, unions, advocacy organizations, state and local governments
and other constituencies on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
throughout Federal Region II, New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the
Virgin Islands.  


Responsibilities: This individual provides a range of ADA training
primarily in the area of disability and employment. The person
participates in research and evidence-based practice efforts throughout
the Northeast Region.

Qualifications 
Masters or PhD in the social sciences, disability studies, human
resources, or other related field. 
Experience in empirical social science field research, including design
and use of qualitative and quantitative techniques, process
documentation, and reporting.

Demonstrated knowledge of the ADA. 
Three or more years conducting training and teaching adult learners,
and/or performing related empirical social science research. 

One to three years experience in training program development, and
consultation services to regional, state, or national networks through
the use of in-person, print, and electronic mediums. 

Professional leadership and network development at the state, regional,
national, and/or international level. 
Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively in
a team. 
Writing ability and scholarly record (articles in peer-reviewed
journals, articles in trade publications, research and project reports,
informational brochures, policy briefs, etc.). 

Experience in teaching and developing distributed learning including
online courses and a knowledge of web accessibility requirements are
helpful. 

Experience in grant writing and grant management is helpful.
