Hi:
The World Bank was exploring the possibility of contracting some work out to
Bender, but chose not to after being preached at by the founder.

I have a great deal of questions about Bender, I know they have a blind
person that works for them but I think that is about as far as their
motivation for the employment of persons who are blind extends. I tried to
use them for employment, and it just did not work out. I got one call back
and then a few follow up emails that were sent out on mass. I just think
their organization is one of those who receive grants from various
organizations, but does not do what they say they will do. I know that the
founder has a disability, she is hard of hearing and I believe she has
seizures. I know that they do do a great deal of hunting down government
agencies to work with, I now work for the government and Bender tried to
get a contract with my agency . They made a great deal of promises but I
talked to the 504 companies officer and told them about my experience with
Bender. I am not sure if they did do a contract or not based on my
comments. I just think they could do a lot more in keeping with their
mission statement.
