Hi Craig,

With reference to the NYC Commission for the Blind, you are right; they are 
not that helpful.  You could try the Jewish Guild or Hellen Keller 
International in Brooklyn, and the Lighthouse International, but they will 
ask you whether you have a counselor referral through the Commission.  They 
are also not very helpful.

Did you contact Just One Break?  Their number is (212) 785-7300.  It's a 
for-profit agency that deals with employment for all disabilities. It's 
worth a try, at least.
