Josh,
What the alleged company in Switzerland is doing is a serious crime called
"phishing". It involves getting people to share their social security
number, credit card numbers, and other personal information. They then wipe
out your bank account and charge thousands of dollars to your credit cards,
leaving you with a mountain of debt and your credit wrecked.
It is a form of identity theft, and it can cost you thousands of dollars and
years of work to get everything straightened out. If you have contact
information for them, please turn it in to the FBI or your local law
enforcement authority.
There are lots of approaches to phishing. The most common is the "African
letter" in which someone offers to give you lots of money for helping
transfer a large amount of funds to the U. S. There are plenty of
variations on it. I get several of these kinds of requests each day.
Everyone on the list: please do not be tricked by these kinds of schemes.
If it seems too good to be true, it is.

Do not give your ssn to anyone you haven't interviewed with personally --
you know, almost anything can be accessed via your social security number --
case in point, i once forgot my paypal password and went to answer the
little security questions to get them to send me a new one, and when I got
to that page, they asked for either my security questions or my social
security number -- so essentially only the ssn got me into my paypal site.
I complained to paypal that I thought this was a really serious breach in
security, and their response was that if someone had my ssn they probably
knew everything else anyway.
Watch out for identity theft!
Just a warning.

hi,
I know at times we will jump at whatever job comes along to get us by for a
while, but how f'n blind are you to even think about giving your account
numbers to a company without even meeting the employer?
