POSITION: Vice President Membership Development                DATE:  June 25, 2007
 
DEPARTMENT:  Programs and Services 
 
PURPOSE OF POSITION:            Responsible for the development, coordination and performance of all sales activities for RFB&D. Responsible for the development of the annual sales plan and the establishment of overall sales objectives. Staffs and directs the sales team, providing leadership and direction to enable Unit territories and Headquarters to achieve maximum placement of RFB&D memberships and programs. Establishes and implements overall sales strategies to expand membership and usage.     
 
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-                   Responsible for achievement of all Regional Headquarters and Unit territory membership goals. 
-                   Develops a business plan and tactical sales strategy that insures the successful attainment of all objectives.
-                   Initiates and coordinates the development of strategic plans enabling RFB&D to penetrate new markets and maximize new opportunities.
-                   Actively monitors sales performance, budgets, and revenue and expense forecasts to insure attainment of goals on time and on budget.
-                   Implements a sales management process that brings discipline and accountability to sales, performance and client service.
-                   Responsible  for the overall development of the sales organization..
-                   Conducts review of the Director of Regional Account Executives activities and plans.
-                   Implements a uniform consultative approach to sales and program placement to insure acceptance, utilization and retention..
-                   Conducts regular feedback and development sessions to motivate and develop the sales team.
-                   Utilizes internal CRM and tracking databases to review sales team performance and activities.
-                    Provides regular feedback to Senior Vice President of Programs and Services.
-                   Acts as a liaison between Units and Headquarters to insure the timely gathering and exchange of information and market intelligence.
-                   Participates in the development and implementation of marketing strategies.
-                   Manages the activities of outside vendors contracted to perform sales and sales support functions.
-                   Leverages best practices within Unit and Headquarter territories.
-                   Demonstrates the ability to interact and cooperate with contacts, individual Units, and all company employees.
-                   Adheres to all policies, procedures and business ethics codes.  
 
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
            Bachelor degree or equivalent.
Minimum 5-10 years experience in senior sales management position; experience with educational sales a plus.
            Experience with account team management & needs-based consultative selling techniques
Strong teambuilding, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
Excellent presentation, oral & written communication skills. Ability to influence and persuade others who do not report directly. 
            PC literate with experience in Word and Power Point (presentations).
            Proven track record achieving objectives.  
Self starter with demonstrated effectiveness in a multi-tasking & collaborative environment. 
May require travel (local and out of state) approximately 25% of the time.
