Hi Randy,

There is a publication called Sources of Custom-Produced Books 2001 located
at http://www.loc.gov/nls/reference/directories/sources.html.
In addition, you can contact National Braille Association in Rochester, New
York at (585) 427-8260 or go to www.nationalbraille.org or send an email to
nbaoffice at nationalbraille.org. The new Executive Director for the
organization is David Shaffer. They may have some assignments for you to do
on a volunteer basis.
You can also contact Jan Carroll, Contract Administration Manager at APH.
Her email is jcarroll at aph.org. You can call 502-895-2405 or toll-free at
800-223-1839 (U.S. and Canada). I believe they can set up a contract for you
to transcribe textbook into Braille.
You can also contact National Braille Press at (617) 60. The contact person
is Eileen Curran, Vice President of Education Services. Her email is
ecurran at nbp.org.
If you need other contacts, let me know.
I hope this may help you search for contract or employment in this braille
transcription field.
You can visit my web site at www.lisa-halls-world.org if you need additional
information.

Subject: [Jobs] Dual Certified Braille Transcriber

I am interested in working within the visually challenged community. I am
dual-federally certified in Literary Braille Transcription, as well as
Braille Mathematics (Nemeth). Currently I transcribe work from my home,
however if the opportunity presented itself, I would welcome an employment
opportunity with a local producer of Braille or a publishing house, etc.
I am qualified, diligent, met deadlines and reasonable in my asking price.
If you have a position in the New York area, I'd like to hear from you. I am
not willing to relocate, so out of state requests will not be answered.
Thank you very much.
Very Truly Yours,
Randy Eskenazi
