eight month
Rehabilitation program at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland is
seeking a Braille instructor.  More than a Braille instructor we're
looking for
a person who wishes to join in our adventure.  It's the daily adventure
of working with staff who believe that doing a job means doing whatever
it takes,
whether it's in your job description or not, to help students grow and
join the mainstream of society.  Although Braille is your central job,
it's about
travel and cooking and computers and personal counseling and
fund-raising and the fun and excitement of new projects. 
We don't care so much that you're a trained teacher, although that can
help.  What we'd like you to have is functional blindness skills and the
passion
to make them better.  We'd also like you to have an excitement about
watching others change their lives through immersion in the skills of
blindness, and
the desire to help them in the process. 

Baltimore is the home of the National Center for the Blind and the
National Federation of the Blind's headquarters.  Being here gives us
the opportunity
to be at the creative confluence of change in what it means to be blind.
