Please pass this information along to anyone you know of who may be interested.
IN-SIGHT is a Rhode Island based nonprofit agency serving the comprehensive needs of people who are blind and visually impaired. The agency has recently
completed a two year strategic planning process, which has produced a solid vision for an exciting future that focuses on comprehensive vision rehabilitation,
community education, and vocational training. Our new organizational structure has created several new positions on our staff, including:
Director of Vision Rehabilitation
This is a new position within the agency, combining several existing programs under the leadership of one person. The Director will play a key role in
growing IN-SIGHT's vision rehabilitation program which will include low vision services, skills training classes, educational workshops, counseling, therapeutic
support groups, and orientation and mobility. The Director will insure that IN-SIGHT's clients are receiving superior service and instruction and are
on the road to independence and empowerment.
The position does not require a background in vision rehabilitation, as training will be provided. The position does require a background in program management
in the human services or social work fields, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to multi task. Salary range is $48,000-$55,000 annually plus benefits.
Case Manager
This is also a new position within the agency, replacing the existing social services program. The case manager will work with IN-SIGHT clients to develop
their goals and then work with them to insure that their needs are met. The Case Manager will play an important role in the intake and assessment process,
will facilitate therapeutic support groups, and provide individual counseling.
The position requires a Masters in Social Work along with experience working in the human services field. Salary range is $38,000 - $43,000 annually plus
benefits.
Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (2)
These are two new positions within the agency. The Vision Rehabilitation Therapists will work directly with people who are blind and visually impaired to
help them reach their personal independence goals. Training will be provided in all areas of daily living including personal care, home management, financial
management, and recreational activities.
The position requires a Bachelor's Degree and a strong interest in working with people who are blind and visually impaired. Certification is preferred
but the agency is willing to invest in comprehensive training for the ideal candidate. Salary range is $38,000 - $43,000 annually plus benefits.
