[Jobs] What is this?

Edwin,
While I don't at all believe I'm being "judgemental"
here, I will say in reply to you that in an industry
which I thought "employs the blind," yes it's slightly
annoying to read their statement:
"Must be able to perform tasks which require visual
alignment of product or visual inspection of product
conformance to standard."
Just seems like they'd have found a work-around for
such a need by now, if they cared to.
They say it's for jobs that require "shading" checks
and quality control. Fine. I'll let that one go,
though it seems telling. But then they say the
following, which I suppose should not surprise me:
"AIDB is sensitive to the needs of Blind or Visually
Impaired and Deaf or Hard of Hearing and will make
reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants and
employees that do not impose undue hardship and are not
essential functions of the job."
So, does that mean that for "essential functions" they
won't make accomodations, which I would like to take
as, 'figure out a way it can be done by someone who is
blind.'
Ah Well, Thanks for the Reminder,
Everett
