Hello Listers,
Resume-posting sites are by no means useless, and are
not siply "resume gravesites" as some may think. Those
sections of job sites, at least with the "Big 3" Albert
has already posted to, are definitely scoured by
headhunters. And by "headhunter," I'm not talking
strictly of $100k-per-year-executive-recruiters.
On the non-executive job-level, for example, I know of
one national company with offices in every major
market-region, who get many of their salespeople from
resumes posted at one of the "Big 3." I know a guy who
does, or at least did, their resume-scouring up in
Cleveland for that office.
I mean, think about it. It's a huge time-saver and
money-saver, as opposed to placing a classified ad and
hoping for solid responses. Now, HR people can go find
and sort their own choice resumes from a zillion
resumes online, and look over only those that fit their
exact criteria.
So posting your resume can and does work. But pay
attention to all the gazillion tips online about having
a solid resume, worth posting. I know others have sent
through many such articles, here, in the past.
To Your Success!
