Responsibilities: The Virginia Industries for the Blind, enterprise
division of DBVI is seeking an individual to serve as a Production
Supervisor in the

Richmond Manufacturing Plant responsible for providing on-site job
training, career development and employment for blind and vision
impaired individuals.

 

The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing and directing
manufacturing department(s) while ensuring compliance with agency
policies and operational

procedures. Responsibilities include meeting customer's requirements for
quality goods and services while providing a safe, efficient and
productive environment.

 

Qualifications: Basic supervisory experience in manufacturing,
production management or business operations. Skill to manage effective
utilization of labor,

materials and machines. Ability to effectively train subordinates along
with handling performance issues. Knowledge of scheduling procedures to
meet production

requirements. Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of
inventory control and quality assurance. Demonstrated ability to
communicate effectively

both verbally and in writing. Ability to utilize position related
computer applications for the accurate and timely preparation of
personnel and production

reports. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, rules
and regulations. Ability to analyze information and reach logical
conclusions. Experience

with Vocational Rehabilitation is a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Business
or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of training and
experience

indicating possession of the preceding knowledge and abilities may
substitute for education and experience.

 

Hiring salary range is $23,076- $47,361, negotiable based on
qualifications and salary history.

program.**
