This came to me on one of my lists, and it looks interesting. If the

Seals.  Easter Seals is recruiting individuals who are blind or visually
impaired
for a paid internship position.  This internship lasts 6-8 months and
interns typically work 20 hours per week.  The pay is $9/hour.  It
sounds
like a great opportunity to get hands-on training in Web publishing and
editing.

 

Interns will receive training in editing, preparing and writing content
for
newsletters and Web pages and publishing and/or distributing the content
via
online media (e.g., Web pages, newsletters, surveys, and campaigns).  It
sounds like qualified candidates need not have a great deal of Web
design or
editing experience, but they should have good computer skills in Word
and
basic Internet apps.  Specifically, the description says that interns
should
have:

1) comfort with use of the Web 

2) writing skill 

3) stated career goals 

4) proficiency with word processing software, Internet access and use,
and
needed software-based assistive technology (i.e., JAWS and/or
Zoom-Text).  

 

The attachment named "Intern Web Content Producer" provides a good
description of the position.  

 

Intern candidates will submit their applications and will be interviewed
locally for selection.  Easter Seals will begin training for this
position
