Employment Consultant
Looking for a creative self starter to join a motivated team of
professionals dedicated to reaching individuals' employment goals.
Assist and support individuals
with disabilities to secure gainful employment in the community through
job development, job coaching and follow along services. Network through
out the
Puget Sound area with employers to assess and negotiate employment
opportunities.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Assist and support customers to secure gainful
employment and/or community connections through completion of a
vocational profile, job
development, job coaching and follow along or replacement services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Complete a detailed individual plan including a plan of service
supports for each assigned customer.
2. Develop in the community and conduct job specific vocational
assessments with customers as appropriate to determine individual
learning styles, skills
and wants and clarify direction of service.
3. Carry out job development activities, including but not limited to:
networking, marketing, identification of potential placement
opportunities, touring
of companies, identification of business decision makers, building and
maintaining business relationships, and securing positions for customers
as guided
by vocational profile and individual action plans.
4. Perform job and task analysis, and job coaching/community supports.
5. Following employment, assist customers in the development and
implementation of an individual plan of support.
6. Support employers by providing education, and routinely monitoring
and addressing concerns.
7. Maintain records of actions and outcomes, employer contacts and
billable time.
8. Maintain communication with customer, family, coworkers, home staff,
funding agency(s) and all other people significant to the customer.
9. Performs related duties as assigned.
This is a full time position with benefits.
Additional Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in business, social work, education or other
related field. Two years of experience in working with individuals with
disabilities in
a community setting may be substituted for degree.
2. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with
co-workers, customers and their families and/or home staff, employers,
funding sources
and the community.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Professional demeanor.
5. Superior listening skills.
6. Must have a current and valid Washington driver's license and good
driving record, own vehicle, and maintain insurance acceptable to the
agency's insurance
carrier.
