[Jobs] Question about a company

Charlotte,
There are many organizations in Minneapolis and St. Paul that employ
personal care attendants who work with people in their homes. If you look
for personal care attendants in the job listings, you will see a lot of
them. There are different care options, and I know working with seniors is
one of them. By looking locally, you can deal with well established firms.
I believe a number of them include wages in their job listings.

Subject: Re: [Jobs] Question about a company

Charlotte, it's not so unusual to leave wage information off of job
postings. I look at postings all the time as part of my job and find
that less than half of them list any wage/salary info. As far as getting
a job right away, I think your intuitions are correct that, if they find
that your skills match their current need, they could place you
immediately. In most of these types of businesses they have a continuous
need for employees and may have more work than staff to fill jobs. Since
you would probably be going to people's homes, the only caveat I would
offer is that if you are sent to a home where you are uncomfortable with
the behavior of a client or family member, or if you are concerned for
your safety, then you should let the company know right away. Although I
don't make home visits in my current job, I have in several past
positions, and I can tell you that you should trust your instincts if you
feel uncomfortable with a situation and try to remove yourself from it
quickly if you feel unsafe.
