Judith,

Unfortunately your statement about hearing getting sharper when a person
becomes visually impaired is a myth. Hearing stays the same however a
person can learn to use it more effectively.

Marshall, Often when a person is visually impaired their hearing becomes

much sharper.  Since you are applying to tune pianos, wouldn't this 
attribute make you more qualified?
