JOB SUMMARY:
The U.S. Department of Education (ED) is looking for the best and
brightest to ensure equal access to education and to promote
educational excellence throughout the nation. If you are a highly
motivated, creative individual who would like to be involved in
establishing policies on federal financial aid for education, and
distributing as well as monitoring those funds; collecting data on
America's schools and disseminating research; focusing national
attention on key educational issues; and prohibiting discrimination
and ensuring equal access to education, ED is the place for you!
The position is located in the Office of Management (OM), Equal
Employment Opportunity Services (EEOS). The position requires the
full performance of an EEO program (Hispanic Special Emphasis
Program), which could encompass various affirmative employment
assignments (counseling, investigation, diversity/workforce analysis,
complaint processing, and/or special emphasis program person). The
incumbent participates in affirmative employment compliance reviews
that support the mission of the Department and the Strategic Plans of
the Office of Management and the EEOS. This includes monitoring and
providing first hand advice, guidance and interpretation of EEO
regulations to management officials, Principal Offices (PO),
employees and staff.
