Excuse me, but I feel uncomfortable having you guys discuss your personal
stuff on a public NFB listserv. Not only are you having this conversation
before hundreds of other people, anything you write here can be accessed now
and in the future by anyone using an Internet search engine.
Therefore, please do not say anything on this listserv that you wouldn't
want everyone in the world to know. That especially includes personal
information. Instead, you should exchange e-mail addresses and take your
discussions off line.
With respect to writing or not writing a book about your experiences, that
is clearly outside the purpose of this list, which is operated by the NFB
Employment Committee for jobseekers and employers who would like to hire
them. Mike Jones, who runs this list, has explained politely a couple of
times that this conversation and ones like it are off topic.
The NFB has a writer's division which has its own listserv, and Blind Talk
for friendly conversation. There are other lists which would put you in
touch with other people having the same interests and concerns. Attached is
a list of all the NFB listservs with links so you can find a better one.

Hi David: Thanks for filling me in about yourself and your family; I have a
moderate hearing loss, Lupus,Insulin Dependent Diabetes, End Stage Heart
Failure, Kidney and Lung failure and for these reasons cannot travel safely;
especially the hearing problem, causes problems; I certainly miss my
independence; Thank you for the encouragement about writing a book I would
love to if I knew someone who would be interested in helping; Have a great
vacation; Tell me, where did you go to school and what are you doing right
now in the work field? What fun things do you enjoy? I like reading
mysteries, police procedural novels, romances, I enjoy dancing, ceramics and
watching soap operas; I love people and enjoy talking; So glad you wish to
e-mail; Best of luck my new friend Jeanne Oh yes, do you h ave a guide dog?
