[Jobs] Objective on Resume

But they just aren't being used much now. In fact, employers don't want
objectives. The thinking is that obviously, an applicant's objective is to
get a job, and so they are somewhat meaningless. With so much unemployment
now, it's an employers market, and they can get dozens or hundreds of
resumes for each opening. So they want the meat of the matter.

I have a few bulleted skills at the beginning of my resume, then my work
history which all ties into those skills, and in each summary of the
positions I've held the action words describing what I did on each job.

Hi Everyone,
Objectives on resume are like the door which invites the reader to open it.
The resume will list all the accomplishments of the individual. No job is
small. In my first resume, I listed with active words, my little things I
have done as a federation member.
Have you conducted a seminar
Planned and organized a special event in your church group Have you done
volunteer work providing information.
All these are active verbs that the employer is looking for.
I hope this helps some.

Hi. Mike, you keep making the comments that you would like to read more
real and measurable accomplishments from people. I am wondering if,
perhaps, you could give some real examples of what you are looking for.
This would, perhaps, be more helpful to people. I think many people go to
work and do their jobs but never actually realize that what they do is one,
measurable, and two, an accomplishment at all. Then, once they do realize
those two facts, it can be as hard as the very devil to put it into words,
much less put it on paper in some meaningful fashion. So, perhaps, since
you are in a position to read multiple resumes, you could take some of those
statements and put them in what would be a more preferred and meaningful way
which would then be more helpful to others on this list when they are
writing their resumes. The person who began this thread by asking the
question would, likely, have gotten a better idea of what she could write
from such examples than to be told to make it "real and measurable," too,
especially if she has no prior job experience.
I hope that makes sense.
