Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation Services is now recruiting for a 
Rehabilitation Counselor to work within the Kansas City Metro (KC 
Metro) Service Delivery Region.

This is advanced professional rehabilitation counseling work within 
the Vocational Rehabilitation Field Program.  This position develops 
referral and outreach within the KC Metro Region to insure that 
individuals who are blind or visually impaired are aware of VR 
services.  This professional counsels clients who are blind or 
visually impaired to assist in impacting adjustments to blindness and 
to develop rehabilitation goals and plans. The training that this VR 
counselor will be required to complete is significantly expanded 
beyond the traditional new counselor training for a VR Counselor.  A 
six-month training period will be expected to take place at the 
Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired located in 
Topeka, KS prior to serving the blind and visually impaired in the KC 
Metro Region.

Applicants with a Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, 
counseling, counseling and guidance, clinical counseling, sociology, 
psychology, social work, education, special education, or education 
of the deaf from an accredited college or university meet the minimum 
qualifications for this position and are encouraged to apply.
