The U.S. Department of State is the lead U.S. foreign affairs agency.
Our mission in Iraq is to support the sovereign, democratic rights of
the Iraqi people
to govern themselves, defend their country, and rebuild their economy.

The Iraq Reconstruction Management Office (IRMO) was established by a
Presidential Directive to coordinate the U.S. reconstruction program in
Iraq, in cooperation
with U.S. government agencies and the Iraqi government.

Currently, IRMO is hiring qualified consultants with experience in
infrastructure, international development, finance, democracy-building,
economics, policy
and security to serve as consultants in IRMO at the U.S. Embassy in
Baghdad, Iraq. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and be able to serve for
a minimum
of one year. Deployment to Iraq will occur within 4-6 weeks of approval
for employment. Candidates must pass medical screening, security
background check,
and conflict of interest/ethics screening for employment. Salary is
commensurate with duties and experience.
