[Jobs] Job question.

HI Allen: The obvious ;question is, do you have any experience as a
seller of jewlery? Before I began making and selling my own, I worked for
another designer's kiosk. While it is true that she attracted a higher
volume of people , I held my own with selling to those who chose not to
window shop and come in. Those were the serious buyers. I make and sell my
own and there are a few aspects of jewlery selling that I've found useful.
First of all, you can familiarize yourself thoroughly with every piece. you
can learn all you can about what sells and why. You will be asked questions
that may require very specific answers, and the more you are prepared with
the answers, the more successful your sales will be. It is not necessary to
actually see the pieces in order to talk to customers about them and all
their properties. I find that when I add my own descriptions of things that
maybe the customers would miss or not notice, than a blindness barrier that
could conceivably leave an awkward impression gets broken. It is necessary
to establish trust. Second, it is good to keep up on the latest trends in
both male and female jewlery fashion. A blind person can develop as good of
an intuition for selling by inserting the right kind of facts and opinions
put in the right context. When it comes time for appraisals or repairs,
then you'll need some visual assistence. So, I don't know if this answers
your question? Good luck. I'd be interested in knowing what attracted youto
this exciting field.

Subject: [Jobs] Job question.
I apologize for the cross-post, but I need some insight and I need it
quickly.
I am going in tomorrow afternoon to fill out a job application at a fairly
well known local jeweler. The thing is, I know the inevitable question will
be something along the lines of, "How can you sell something that you cannot
see, especially when being able to see the product is so important?"
To be honest, I'm not sure how to answer that. So, I came here, to my
federation family, to seek advice and insight. Can anyone help me with
this?
Eagerly awaiting any and all insight and help.
Alan

I just wish He didn't trust me so much.
