Comments: The Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision
Impaired provides comprehensive adjustment services to severely visually
impaired Virginians. Help prepare blind adolescents and adults for
employment.
Responsibilities: The Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and
Vision Impaired seeks a qualified Vocational Evaluator to evaluate the
vocational potential of persons with visual impairment/blindness and
other disabilities, identify vocational objectives, and develop job
placement plans.
Qualifications:
*Requires ability to administer and interpret interest inventories,
physical functioning assessments, academic, and vocational aptitude
testing
*Ability to design and administer situational assessments and trial work
experiences
*Ability to interpret results and make sound recommendations
*Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to
write comprehensive work evaluation reports
*Knowledge of rehabilitation/assistive technology
*Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills *Experience working in
human services, education or closely related field
*Experience with community/business/industry/
collaborative efforts
*Experience working with persons with disabilities, visually impaired
desirable
*Experience utilizing assessment instruments, vocational evaluations and
counseling techniques
*Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocation Evaluation, or
closely related field and/or certification as CVE or CRC. Include your
college/university transcript and/or copy of your certification with
your application.
Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check
investigation required. Annual completion of Statement of Economic
Interests form required.
Salary is negotiable above the minimum of the pay band based on
qualifications and salary history.
