TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Location:
Job openings in several different locations as well as the Corporate
Headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida

Responsibilities:
Provides technical support to end users of Freedom Scientific products
by
performing the following duties:
* Responds to telephone calls requesting technical support
* Responds to email requests for tech support
* Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems, referring
more
complex problems to a supervisor or products escalation staff
* Logs and tracks calls using trouble ticket database
* Follows instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the
functions of the job
Requirements:
* One year certificate from college or technical school plus one to two
years or related experience and/or training
* Two years of assistive technology experience
* Expert knowledge of Freedom Scientific JAWS software
* Knowledge of all other Software and Hardware products of Freedom
Scientific
* Knowledge of Windows O/S (Win9X, Win ME, WinNT/2000,WinXP)
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications, IE and E-Mail
applications
such as Outlook and Eudora.
* Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting (desktops, laptops,
synthesizers, Braille displays and Note Takers)
* Ability to learn call track database system
* Fluency in creating, modifying, and reading grade II Braille text
helpful
Salary:
Depends on knowledge level & experience
Closing Date:
Open until filled (two contract tech support and two in-office tech
support).
