JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor position will
serve as the Community Reintegration Services (CRS) Administrator
assigned to the Mental Health Service, Homeless Care Line (HCL). S/he is
responsible for both CRS return to work program management and CRS staff
supervision. The administrator also participates in developing community
agency partnership and marketing for the purpose of employing veterans.

The CRS staff is multidisciplinary and works with a veteran population
with multiple disabilities, such as barriers to employment, alcoholism,
drug addiction, psychiatric disorders, medical/physical disabilities,
poor employment histories, educational/cultural disadvantages, criminal
records, and previous treatment failures. Many veterans require
specialized considerations, and services because of their complexity and
difficulty in employment placement.

This is a supervisory position. Employees who are initially appointed to
supervisory positions must serve a probationary period of one year. As
this is a supervisory position, applicants must have demonstrated in
their work experience that they possess, or have the potential to
develop, the qualities of successful supervision. An interview may be
included in the evaluation process to assess these abilities.

Full performance level of this position is GS-12.
