Hello Federation family. I just wanted to let y'all know that my retired
guide Gerry had a seizure yesterday afternoon. I was literally in the middle
of teaching when it happened. I started hearing her kick the sides of her
crate and at first I thought it was omega dreaming Cuz omega really likes to
get into it when she's dreaming and having a grand old time. But this
sounded way different. I felt down in the crate and realized it was Jerry.
The seizure lasted about three or four minutes. And then we had to take her
to the ER vet because my vet was booked and they had had both doctors and
surgery at the same time. they were really nice over there and I thought the
vet was very personable. She said the only way to really know what happened
is to do an MRI but there's no way I am putting Jerry through that at this
age. And she agreed. Because it's not like they're gonna go in there and fix
it. right after the seizure, Andy said that Jerry looked like she couldn't
see anything. But luckily, that seems to have improved a whole bunch and
Andy said this morning, Jerry was looking at him looking around looking back
at him. she made it through the night without any problems. we will just
have to see if it was a one and done thing or if she has more. Keeping
fingers crossed that it was a one and done thing. we were all able to be
with her at the vet yesterday, even omega came.  I was very proud of Michael
for deciding to come and thought that was very grown-up of him. He said he
wanted to be there in case anything happened. He and Jerry have been best
buddies since Michael was five years old. I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks.
