Hello Everyone
I had an inquiry from a former member of the Blackhawk Chapter, a question
for which I'm not able to give an informed answer. The man's name is Tom
Pogue, and he lives in a fairly rural area east of Galesburg.
What Tom wants to do is buy a smart phone, then add a GPS app on it to give
him mobility information. He has used Humanware Trekker Breezes in the past
but seems to not have a working model anymore. Humanware has changed their
line of such equipment, and the current Trekker Breeze, or whatever they
call it, is around $1500. He is looking for a cheaper approach. FYI, Tom has
never used a smart phone before.
I could give him some basic info on iPhones, but Tom's biggest question was
about an GPS app for a smart phone. I don't use such an app, and am not
familiar with any of them.
He was having trouble getting good info on such an app, and wondered if some
one might have some experience with such an app and could give him some
recommendations. If any of you are familiar with this approach for a
mobility assistance solution, would you be willing to contact Tom? His info
is given below.

Note also Tom is not on Il-Talk.
Thanks for any help you can give,
