Please see the below e-mail from a federationist who is doing research for
the summer at the University of Chicago. Some of us met him a few weeks ago
at the Chicago chapter picnic.

Howdy Federation Family,
My name is Gene, and I'm a blind student working at the University of
Chicago this summer as a computer science research intern. I'm the immediate
past Secretary of the National Association of Blind Students, a board member
of the NFB Science and Engineering division, and have been a proud
federationist since my first convention in 2019. I'm reaching out to ask if
you would be willing to help me with my summer project by participating in a
paid, in-person research study (blind and sighted folks both welcome). We'll
be asking participants to wear a tactile display (electrical
stimulation-based) on the hand/forehead and interact with some everyday
objects on a table. The study will take place at UChicago's John Crerar
Library

.790524!4d-87.602854!16zL20vMGdicjQy?entry=ttu> starting on Tuesday, August
20 through Sunday, September 1. The study is about two hours, compensation
is $50 Amazon voucher, and we will reimburse your travel expenses. To be
eligible, participants must not have: cardiac pacemaker, unhealed fractures,
any damages or injuries on any joint, epilepsy, known allergies to electrode
gel, metal implants underneath the skin, and must not be pregnant.
If interested in participating, please reach out to me at
geneshkim at uchicago.edu <mailto:geneshkim at uchicago.edu> or at (650)
660-5475. Thanks so much!
Cheers,
Gene
