[Iabs-talk] Mass Transit in Northeastern Illinoi

Hello all,

Please continue to keep the pressure on legislators to come up with a 
LONG-TERM solution to the mass transit woes in northeastern Illinois. The 
key word is LONG-TERM. The band aid approach taken in September and proposed 
in the capital bill will only make things worse in the long run. There is 
some talk about putting together taxes from other sources but that is not 
getting much play. Legislators need to hear from all of us regarding the 
mass transit situation and the need for a LONG-TERM solution. Service cuts 
and fare increases are set for Nov. 4 with much more drastic measures 
promised to begin in January of 2008 if there is not adequate funding found. 
Notice, I said promised, not threatened. These are not just threats. Please 
contact your legislator to make your feelings know AGAIN. If you need help 
doing so, please e-mail me off list.
