[Iabs-talk] IABS Business Meeting and Money

Hey Everyone,
 
Two things:
1) After discussing logistics with Patti and Debbie, I've decided to  
reschedule our General Business Meeting, which was supposed to occur next Friday  
night.  We need to tighten up the time a bit, so we're going to have the  student 
panel during dinner instead.  However, I still plan to have a  meeting in 
early to mid April, so committee chairs and report-givers should be  working hard 
now.
 
2) Our budget is pretty much depleted at this point.  I've asked NFBI  if 
they'd help reimburse a few things such as Ryan's airfare, but they may opt  not 
to do so.  In the meantime, we need, desperately, an infusion of  capital.  
I'm asking (not requiring) each of you to pay the equivilent of  the 
registration fee for this seminar to IABS.  That will be $20.   This covers your food, 
seminar facilities, shuttling, and it also helps with the  lodging and travel 
for the students.  The seven of us will generate $140  which will really give us 
a cushion.  I'm not kidding when I say  depleted.  We're talking less than 
$20 here.
 
We need to develop some fundraisers...soon.  We've got shot glasses in  
Atlanta, and we've got a candy sale planned for September.  We can also  charge a 
bit hgiher for Six Flags tickets and keep the difference if we want to,  but in 
the meantime, we need something quick and easy.  Any ideas?
