[Iabs-talk] Fw: [il-talk] Help With Cell Phone and Recording

You could do a threeway call with the person you want to record and a
voicemail box. As you may know, I own and operate Philmore Voicemail, and
the voicemail system allows you to record a 90-minute greeting and receive
up to 20 mnute messages in a box. You could utilize the recording
capabilities of the voicemail box to capture the phone conversation. This
would not require any hardware on your phone. Philmore Voicemail may be
reached at 773-572-3000.

Subject: [il-talk] Help With Cell Phone and Recording

I have started a writing project that will require interviewing people over
the phone. Since those calls will be long distance, I would like to use my
cell phone. But here is the catch: I want to record the conversations on a
tape recorder.

I have an LG cell phone with a jack to connect a headset to it. I've tried
hooking with appropriate adapters and cords from that jack to a tape
recorder. I can hear the person on the other end, but then they can't hear
me talking. Apparently, connecting into that jack on the phone also
interrupts the part of the phone you talk into.

Has anybody got any ideas on how I can talk to someone on a cell phone and
record at the same time?

Bob
