Dear Friends,
I am excited to announce that the Illinois Association of Blind Students
Schwanâs Fundraisingâ campaign will start on Monday, August 20 and run through
Friday, September 7. Thank you in advance to everyone who is out supporting
our organization. I have just received notification from Schwanâsâ that
our campaign number is: 1004140. Please give this campaign number to friends
and family who will support our fundraiser via the internet. Remember that
Schwanâsâ trucks deliver coast to coast! So, spread the word!
To order online, simply go to _www.schwansfundraising.com_
(http://www.schwansfundraising.com/) , click on âStart Shoppingâ (near the truck on the left
side of the screen). You will then be asked to enter a Campaign ID, remember
to enter Campaign Id 1004140. Click the âStart Shoppingâ on the welcome
page and begin placing your order.
If the system asks for the name of someone to whom credit should be given,
please enter my name, Ronza Othman. I am serving as the Schwanâs coordinator,
and IABS will receive credit when you enter my name.
For those of you who are not familiar with Schwanâs Fundraising, the program
is simple. Schwanâs sells food products, which will be delivered to your
door. Thatâs right! You point and click and food arrives on your doorstep.
IABS will receive 30% of the total purchased. That means, if you buy $100
worth of products, IABS will receive $30 of them. The food selections include
everything from breakfast items, to desserts, to whole dinners. Iâm
especially fond of the appetizers and cookie dough.
The Illinois Association of Blind Students plans to use the funds generated
from this campaign to support our efforts to change what it means to be a
blind student. We plan to engage in advocacy, outreach, and education. We
will fund convention activities such as the Teaching Excellence Award Program,
the IABS Outing, and the IABS workshop. We will also fund seminars and
workshops in the coming year that will help students learn self-advocacy and
empowerment.
Thank you in advance for your support of our fundraiser. With your
participation we will be that much closer to our goal of generating funds for IABS.
Yours,
Ronza Othman, President
Illinois Association of Blind Students
