I am forwarding the message I received because of being signed up for the PACE weekly newsletter. Calls and e-mails are still needed regarding SB572. Your state senator and representative need to hear from you. It is possible that some action may actually take place before Aug. 8. It is also essential that people call the governor's office because he has threatened to veto SB572, if passed. If you do not know the phone numbers for your elected officials, please use the links given in the message or call me at 847.390.1738 or e-mail me and I will help you. PLEASE ACT NOW!

Thank you,
Kelly

Pace is the suburban public transit agency for Chicagoland's six-county metropolitan region. As the 13th largest bus agency in the U.S., Pace operates fixed bus routes, vanpools and paratransit services in nearly 250 municipalities consisting of 5.2 million residents. Visit the Route Finder for bus route information.
Please share your story--avoid the transit crisis!
Your support of SB 572 could prevent fare increases, service cuts
It is not too late to help avoid the pending transit crisis. The calls and letters to members of the Illinois General Assembly are working, but more support is needed immediately.

With the legislature still in session, Pace urges you to contact your state legislators and the Governor to tell them how important your service is to you. Without your help, we may not get the funding required to prevent service cuts and fare increases.

We encourage you--along with friends and family--to share your concerns about the impact that fare increases, the elimination of all weekend service and Metra feeder service, and reduced paratransit service would have on you.

Ask your legislators to support Senate Bill 572, which provides new funding for public transit. To find your legislators' contact information, please visit Pace's web site to send an email directly to your elected officials today. (That site also shows you how to look up the name of your senator and representative.)

Share your story--your Pace service depends on it! For more information on this legislation, please contact Rocky Donahue.
