I will be attending the Senate Appropriations Hearing later this  week.  I 
also plan to attend the Illinois Senators' Meet and Greet on  Thursday morning.  
As you know, Senator Durbin is on the Senate Committee,  and as Assistant 
Majority Leader, he holds a great deal of sway.  
 
I urge each of you to contact Senators Durbin and Obama as well as your  
member of the House on this matter.  Funding is vital to the continued  access of 
blind people to the National Library Service.
