Reinstalling did help, but I will still get that blank fairly often. I have
to exit and come back in again. It's a puzzle. It's hard to say what setting
would affect this. My accessibility settings are correct. Thanks for all the

I haven't seen this, but ... the first thing always is to reboot. 
That won't probably matter, since you seem to be getting this result each
time.

I would check all my settings, they sometimes get changed in various windows
programs for unknown reasons.

You may want to reinstall.
