[GUI-Talk] PDF Documents

Greetings Sahar et al:

A PDF that is a form that can be filled out should continue to maintain the
state of being able to be filled out even though the PDF was saved and then
opened later. The key is one of the "accessibility" settings. This has to do
with the "Override the reading order in tagged documents" setting. You want
this box to be unchecked.

Here's how to find this setting.

1.	Open Acrobat Reader DC.
2.	Press Alt e to get into the Edit menu.
3.	Up arrow to Accessibility Submenu. Press Right arrow to open the
submenu. Then, arrow to Setup Assistant and press Enter.
4.	You are now in a set of radio buttons. Arrow down or up to Set for
screen readers and press Enter.
5.	Tab to the Override the Reading Order in Tagged Documents. Uncheck
the box.

Holler if you find this doesn't work.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong

Yes, I experience this problem as well. I am using the most recent version

of Jaws. These problems are definitely frustrating.

Hello:

It is curious that I myself am not experiencing these problems with Acrobat

Reader. What I do observe is the inability of the 64-bit version to jump to

specific pages within a PDF document. I press Control Shift n, enter the

page number, and press Enter. Visually, I get to the page. But then, as soon

as I move the cursor, I am snapped back to the top of the document. I have

reported this problem to Adobe and am told that the fix will not come out

until the summer. I could revert back to the 32-bit version of Acrobat

Reader, but this version is somewhat less convenient to find.

Sahar,

I am finding that I often have to close Acrobat reader at least once and

then run it again when I use it for the first time in every computer

session. I don't know if that will correct what you are encountering,

though.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

Subject: [GUI-Talk] PDF Documents

Hi,

I have been having trouble with PDF documents lately. When I open a PDF

document in Adobe Reader, it does not read. I have to use my touch screen to

get anything happen, and it is often a hit-and-miss. I use Windows 10 and

the 64-bit Acrobat Rader DC. I am not sure what is happening. I filled out a

passport application a few months ago, and now, the fillable form does not

read as fillable. It's definitely puzzling. Am I missing something? Thanks

in advance for any help.

Warm regards,
