[gui-talk] JAWS and Windows 10 Notifications

Hi Steve,

Not sure if you are still looking for help with this, or if these ideas will
actually help with your issue. Nonetheless, when dealing with those kind of
pop ups or dialogue boxes I either hit alt+N for notifications, and then I
can usually tab around in that window, or I use the jaws key (usually
insert, although within jaws you can set up caps lock as another "jaws key")
+ B for box, and then it will read the dialogue box and allow me to tab from
there. I'm not sure if this actually helps you with the notification you're
dealing with though.

All the best,
Ben

Hello,

I believe that "Windows key + a" will show you the notifications in JAWS and
NVDA. You might have to tab around a little.

You're supposed to be able to hit the LeftMouseButton key within the time
the alert remains on screen, without routing JAWS to PC or anything like
that. I have not tried this but I do see the code for it in default.jss.

Hi,

I have an SD card that, when inserted into a Windows 10 computer, causes a
notification to appear saying that the card needs to be repaired. I knew
how to handle such notifications with Window-Eyes, but can't seem to find a
command in JAWS that lets me click on the notification? Using the touch
cursor did not work for me. Is there a command that helps to accomplish
this? I have tried the command search utility without success but am
probably not using the correct search criteria. I could probably lengthen
the time this message appears and use the JAWS cursor, but I would guess
there is a simpler approach since Window-Eyes had one.

Thanks for any help.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson
