Hi. FS definitely is aware of the issue, as someone from the Philly 
Computer Users' Group brought this to my attention and I sent FS a note 
about it. They responded, informing me that they were aware of the problem.

If you're an NVDA user, you could go to

http://addons.nvda-project.com and download the free Weather Plus addon. 
Admittedly, its interface is not quite as straightforward as the one 
with the JAWS research it feature but Weather Plus includes many 
additional options, including sound effects relevant to the current weather.
