[gui-talk] internet explorer has stopped working

Rob,
Regarding the IE stops working message, have you gone through the 
various addons found in the Addons dialog in the tools menu just to see 
if some third-party addon is causing the problem.
Here's a Microsoft help page with more info about possible causes.
