[gui-talk] blue tooth paring

Not all wireless keyboards communicate on the same frequency or with the
same protocol. I expect that most of them would require a device be plugged
into a USB port on your computer, or the Samsung computer has a wireless
keyboard receiver chip inside but is built only to listen to certain models
of keyboards, especially from Samsung. The advantage of Bluetooth is that it
is a more open standard.

I have a Samsung flat screen computer. If I go with just a wireless computer
& not a bluetooth keyboard, is there 1 keyboard better than another that
should be used?

Some Windows-compatible computers have a Bluetooth chip and antenna and
others don't. I might start by looking at Device Manager, which lists all
the ports, drives and other peripherals, as well as a lot of esoteric
internal components, to see whether a Bluetooth device exists. If you are
wanting to have a wireless keyboard, Bluetooth will have a range of less
than 30 feet. If it is just a matter of getting a replacement keyboard, you
will probably have less hassle if it uses USB rather than Bluetooth. Let's
hope you don't end up with the Dell keyboard I got this spring, which has a
Clear key in place of its Numlock, and comes with Numlock enabled with no
easy way to turn it off.

Depends upon whether your computer can handle bluetooth from a hardw5
standpoint.
