All are welcome to participate.
Imagine the following situation. You fire up your trusty screen reader,
open a web page and, after a bit of searching, you find an interesting
article or story you want to read, only to be met by a maze of links,
frames and headings, with tons of unwanted information, making you
wonder if that article is even on the page in the first place. Whether
you use JAWS, Window-Eyes, VoiceOver or some other screen reader, we can
all relate to this situation that we all too often encounter. No matter
what screen reader you use, you know that it contains a huge set of
keystrokes for easy navigation but remembering the right keystroke can
be anything but easy. I’d like to devote at least the first hour of our
next users’ group meeting to this topic, where I invite you to share
your favorite keystrokes and strategies for dealing with the challenges
of every day Web surfing. If you feel you have no strategies but just
challenges, then we’d like to hear from you as well so that others can
assist.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 27 from 8:00-10:00 PM
Eastern time. The number to call is
(712) 432-3900
When you are prompted to enter your access code, enter
391477
Followed by the pound key. We’ll discuss this topic during our first
hour, followed by open Q&A during our final hour if callers feel that
we’ve exhausted this topic by 9:00. See you then.
