[gui-talk] guide question

I don't know a lot about the Guide screen reading system.  A Hadley student called me and asked me how she can enter text in a password field.
When she types in it she says nothing happens.  I'm not sure if that is the Guide way of hiding password text.  She also tried pressing enter to open the field before typing but that didn't work either.

Does Guide work with edit boxes in a different way from Jaws, Window-Eyes, or NVDA?
