To be absolutely safe, you might wish to uninstall iTunes. However, I
believe iTunes installation software detects other versions and
automatically kills them (dunno whether it uninstalls them) before doing its
thing.
Just my opinion.

My notebook PC has recently developed a problem running and updating iTunes.
The culprit is a missing msvcr80.dll file which has apparently been lost or
corrupted, for which the program advises me to reinstall iTunes. This is
easily enough understood, but my only question is whether I should uninstall
iTunes first, and are there any other associated files or programs that also
need to be uninstalled as well.
