During last night's phone meeting, I mentioned that Microsoft was forced
to recall one of the updates for windows which was issued this past
month, due to the fact that some users had issues restarting their
computer after the update was installed. The update in question is KB
2982791. Not everyone was affected by this problem, myself included. My
computer, as well as computers owned by many people, seemed to suffer no
ill effects as a result of the update. However, enough people must have
been affected because Microsoft chose to recall it and it was replaced
by another update. What is interesting is that Microsoft is recommending
that users remove the offending update, even if it did not seem to cause
any issues. Here is a link from the Security garden blog which explains
more about this.

when you go to the list of installed updates, use your up/down arrow
keys to locate the update and press the enter key to remove it. A
restart will be needed to complete the removal process.
