I just reread your messag about going into sounds. Is this the sounds link
in controll pannel? Or, is this a sounds link in JAWS? I wll also try to
disable the Speech. This only seems to happen in youtube now.

The message below assumes that it's the clicks that are bothering you. If
it's JAWS continuously talking, and easy way around this is to hold down the
JAWS Key, hit spacebar while doing so, then let both up and hit the letter
S. This will disable JAWS speech but not take JAWS out. Hitting this
combination again turns speech back on. It's a toggle.

What you do there is to go into Sounds and disable the "start Navigation"
sound. You can always put it back. I just ignore it.

The problems seem to be on youtube. Last night my fiance Sarah (who is fully
sighted) & I were listening to music on youtube. I finally disabled jaws and
let her use the computer because it was driving us both bananas.!!!!!

That's the usual setting. I suppose you could disable javascript (I'd have
to investigate how to do this a bit) but you'd lose a lot and many sites
would tell you they couldn't be displayed properly if you did this.

I think you'll just have to put up with the nuisance or decide as I have
that if a site is unfriendly to me, I'll be unfriendly to it and not use it.

The setting is 50%. Is there anything else I need to go into. It seems like
it might also be a jaws setting.

You can either respond to me on or off list or call me @(847)989-0768.

Thanks.

That might depend upon one's security settings.

I thought Esc used to stop all the Javascript activity on the current page,
but if it ever worked, it seems not to do so anymore.

Not much. If you've changed the Page Refresh setting and pages are still

Hey! I got it! They should call Vanda Pharmaceuticals and join the Non-24
gangt!

Seriously, though, certain sites change their content dynamically and
there's nothing I've found that can stop this. In practice, most people
really don't grock why we'd *want* a page to stand still.

My web pages keep refreshing every few seconds it seems. I have gone into
configuration manager and changed the refresh page settings, but it still
keeps downloading the page.

Is there anything I can do?

Thanks.
