Good luck to you. That was the most difficult thing in the transfer between
XP and 8, and I didn't think it would be.

My EML files seem to open in Microsoft Outlook. I was able to import my
Outlook Express messages into Outlook, and I was able to keep all of my
folders. I did the importing on my old machine using Microsoft Outlook and
took them to my new MS Outlook. I can't remember everything I did because I
had trouble in the beginning. Some of the folders wouldn't import, and
then, finally I did them one at a time and discovered the corrupt folder. I
don't know if all of this rambling helps. I guess I'm saying it can be
done. Another thing I remember doing is saving my dbx extension folders,
importing them into Live Mail, and then doing the import to MS Outlook. Now
everything works.

Hello Listers,
I have a question on document conversion.
I have recently upgraded to Windows8. As a result OutlookExpress no longer
works and I have upgraded my E-Mail software. I have a whole bunch of saved
E-Mails with the eml file extension. How can I get Windows8 to open them or
my E-Mail program to open them so that they can be read? Naturally I want
to save them in a form that they can be read. I don't want to go to the
court of last resort and convert each document to a txt file on an older
machine running Windows xp and physically transfer them over to the new
machine if I can avoid it. Any suggestions on this will be appreciated.
