[gui-talk] why can't I copy to the clipboard

Hi list.  I want to try to resend an email by using the original text then copying that to the clipboard.  I hit ctrl plus A and jaws says how many characters I’ve sellected but when I hit ctrl plus C nothing happens it wont even say coppied to clipboard.  then when I use the start marked thn the reviewd selection coppied to clipboard in NVDA which is incert plus f9 and then incert plus f 10 all it coppied is the first letter of my sellected text any idea what is happening?  thanks ken.
