Hello.

Have you consulted with your ISP to ensure that the parameters (encryption
method, outbound port, expected authentication mechanism, etc.) haven't
changed? Have you looked at your mail account's outbound parameters using
the backstage menu (Alt-F) and options to make sure that those parameters
have not inadvertently been changed? I'd try all of these out before looking
for a knowledge base article.

Subject: [gui-talk] Problem Sending Email in Outlook 2010

Good afternoon colleagues,

For about 3 weeks now I have been unable to send email, but I can still
receive messages on the POP3 server. When I try running the MS Outlook
repair accounts feature the error message tells me Outlook is unable to
connect with the SMTP outbound mail server. I have tried a number of
methods to restore connectivity with SMTP, but to no avail. I even looked on
the MS Knowledge base hoping to find a hotfix. There may in fact be one, but
I must not be using the correct KB search terms. Any ideas or suggestions
are greatly appreciated. Should anyone wish to respond off list please use
rob.tabor at sbcglobal.net as I can still receive email.

TIA and best regards,

Rob Tabor (using wife's PC)
